Did you know? 1700 years ago last month Christendom was changed forever…

Statue of Emperor ConstantineMarch 7th marked the 1700th anniversary of Constantine’s decree to begin the process of separating Christians from worshipping on the same day as our Jewish brothers.

Consider the massive impact this decision has had over the last 1700 years!

What might the Body of Christ look like today had we not aligned with a man-made system which exalted itself above the original Kingdom order set in place by God? [Isaiah 40:28, Dan 7:25] It triggered the concept of Replacement Theology, setting Christianity as a separate religion, apart from, superior to and in conflict with Judaism.

On March 7th, 321 AD a decree was issued that began the process of bringing division for following the Sabbath and establishing the Day of the Sun as holy.

Emperor Constantine made the following declaration,
“I Constantine The Great decreed Dies Solis – Day of the Sun or ‘Sun-day’ – as the Roman day of rest (Codex Justinianus3.12.2): “On the Venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for grain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.”

Then 43 years later, in 364 A.D., it was ratified by the Council of Laodicea.

Canon Law XXIX: “Christians shall not Judaise and be idle on Saturday, but shall work on that day; but the Lord’s day (Sun-Day) they shall especially honour, and, as being Christians, shall if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaising, they shall be shut out from Christ (excommunicated).”

Canon XXVII: “No one shall accept festal presents from Jews and heretics, or keep the festivals with them.”

Consider again, what might the Body of Christ look like today had we not aligned with a man-made system which exalted itself above the original Kingdom order set in place by God? [Isaiah 40:28, Dan 7:25]

Consider the massive impact this decision has made over the last 1700 years! It triggered the Spirit of Replacement, setting Christianity as a separate religion, apart from, superseding and in conflict with Judaism.
