Worship & Warfare Banner Stories“Relay For Life“ Last year, I decided to join the "Relay for Life", to help raise funds for cancer research. The main reason I joined was because my mother, Valda, had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I signed up 15 of Mum's and my friends and family, and we started to plan our camp site for the relay. We started by giving our team a name. We decided on "Victorious Violets" because mum had been VICTORIOUS in her fight and her favourite colour is VIOLET. The team then took on the character of Victorious Knights in Battle. Mum borrowed some beautiful purple banners and a large gold crown from her church. These were perfect for our theme. We also made purple flowers to hang around the tent to give it the violet and female touch. On the night, we were so surprised to find out that our team had won the Best Camp Site Award. This year, we again joined the "Relay for Life". We had enough team members for 3 teams. We decorated the tent in the same theme as last year and were even more surprised when again we won the Best Camp Site Award. The banners are like the icing on the cake.
